In a showdown with the defending conference champs, the Bobcats blinked first.
Central Michigan blistered the nets, and Ohio’s defense, and ran rampant in a 88-70 win inside the Convocation Center on Wednesday night. The loss snapped Ohio’s 12-game winning streak and left the previously undefeated Bobcats (12-1, 1-1 Mid-American Conference) looking for answers.
“Clearly we weren’t ready mentally and that bit us in the butt,” said Ohio senior guard Dominique Doseck.
Central Michigan (11-3, 2-0 MAC) trailed only once, 2-0, and spent the final 28 minutes with a double-digit lead. The Chippewas were the heavy favorite to repeat as MAC champs in 2019, and served noticed with a sharp, top-to-bottom performance.
