The Ohio women’s volleyball team will look to claim its second consecutive Mid-American Conference tournament championship this weekend in DeKalb, Illinois.
After the Bobcats (15-13, 11-5 MAC) lost to Central Michigan to close out their regular season, they enter the tournament as the third seed. That earned Ohio a first-round bye. Sixth-seeded Toledo and seventh-seeded Kent State will play tonight (Thursday) with the winner scheduled to face Ohio in the second round on Friday at 7:30 p.m. The tournament is at Northern Illinois this year, in DeKalb, Illinois.
“In many ways earning the third seed this year after graduating everyone we did from last year is really a more impressive achievement then earning a two seed a year ago,” third-year head coach Deane Webb said.
