Open quarterback competition under way in spring camp

There’s one word that accurately describes the quarterback position for the Ohio University football team in 2016.

Make it two words, actually.

“Wide open,” said Ohio head coach Frank Solich, after the Bobcats wrapped up the second week of spring camp on Saturday with 60 plays of down-and-distance scrimmage plays inside Peden Stadium.

“We’re looking at all of them. It’s going to stay a wide open position for us most likely leading into fall camp and for a portion of fall camp,” Solich said.

Ohio graduated Derrius Vick, who had more starts than any other player at the position over the last two years.
