The final betting line for Kent State’s trip to Athens on Saturday placed the Bobcats as 17-point favorites. The line could have doubled and Ohio still would have covered with a few scores to spare.
After Kent State (2-6, 1-3 Mid-American Conference) led 3-0 following the first quarter, Ohio (6-2, 3-1) rattled off 48 unanswered points to win 48-3.
Ohio punter Michael Farkas went out to boot Ohio’s first possession of the second half, but was hit by Kent’s rush, forcing a roughing-the-punter penalty. The penalty allowed Ohio to keep possession, giving running-back Dorian Brown two plays that ended with a 39-yard touchdown for the Bobcats.
