Redshirt senior quarterback Greg Windham has had a whirlwind of a fall camp for the Ohio Bobcats. After spending most of last season as the third-string quarterback for Ohio, Windham was expected to compete during camp with senior J.D. Sprague for the team’s starting quarterback position.
Sprague figured to have the upper hand due to more experience with the Bobcats, but after Sprague left the program due to complications from an injury recovery, Windham shot atop the depth chart. Head coach Frank Solich on Friday named him starter for the season opener against Texas State a week from Saturday at Peden Stadium.
