Twice this season, the Ohio Bobcat men’s basketball beat the Buffalo Bulls. Twice, this season, Ohio was the better team.
The third time, however, wasn’t the charm as the Bobcats lost to Buffalo 88-74 Friday in the Mid-American Conference semifinals. The loss ends Ohio’s season unless the the ’Cats accept an invitation to a postseason tournament.
“We just weren’t settled in. We were very anxious, the ball was a little sticky,” point guard Jaaron Simmons said after the game. “We just weren’t playing like we normally play.”
Junior forward Tony Campbell led Ohio with 16 points, though his last basket came with 18:29 left in the second half.
