For the first time in the Frank Solich era, the Ohio University football team will make a return appearance in a specific bowl game and have a chance to face a previous bowl opponent.
This time, however, the Bobcats hope to come out on the positive side of the equation in both instances.
Ohio (8-5) will face Troy (9-3) in the 2016 Dollar General Bowl on Friday, Dec. 23 (8 p.m., ESPN) at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Ala.
The Bobcats played in the Mobile bowl on Jan. 7, 2007 — after Solich’s second season — in the first bowl appearance for the program in 38 years.
