AKRON — The Bobcats’ current reign of terror through the Mid-American Conference East Division continued unabated on Saturday.
Ohio plastered Akron, 101-73, inside James A. Rhodes Arena to pick up its fourth straight victory. The Bobcats (21-4, 13-1 MAC) have won 16 of their last 17 games overall, and the win secured a second-straight MAC East Division title for Ohio.
Ohio has already secured a first-round bye for the 2016 MAC Tournament. The Bobcats lead Central Michigan (11-3 MAC) in the overall standings by two full games with four games left.
The victory was the fourth in a row for Ohio against Akron (13-12, 7-7 MAC), and the Bobcats now lead the all-time series 38-18.
