Saturday at the Convocation Center, the Ohio Bobcats women’s basketball team didn’t come out playing like its usual competent squad against Western Michigan. Last year, the Bobcats lost to the Broncos early in their conference schedule, and this year, the result came uncomfortably close to being the same. Against Western, Ohio missed its first 12 shots from the field and found itself down at the half.
At the end of the second quarter and into the second half, however, the Bobcats came back to win 73-63 behind a career performance from junior Quiera Lampkins. With normal leading scorer Kiyanna Black finishing with just eight points, Lampkins filed the void and scored a career-high 33 points to go along with six steals.
