Ohio wades into SEC country

Now they get a chance — again — to reach for a historic plateau. Ohio (1-1) travels to Tennessee (2-0) on Saturday for a 12 p.m. start inside Neyland Stadium.

The Volunteers, thought by some to be a contender for the Southeastern Conference title this year, begin the week ranked No. 15 in the nation in both the Associated Press and USA Today Coaches polls.

The Bobcats, of course, have never beaten a ranked team in the program’s 122-year history.

Ohio head coach Frank Solich doesn’t spend much time worrying about that last fact. The Bobcats, 4-13 overall against teams from power conferences under Solich, are 0-4 against ranked foes in the last 12 years.
