Ohio tames Herd, 76-68, behind Black's 32 points

The Bobcats proved they wanted to be there with a stirring, aggressive first quarter of defense.

And after that, Kiyanna Black made sure the Bobcats would get another chance to show they’re ready to play in the Women’s National Invitation Tournament (WNIT).

Black, Ohio’s shot-making senior guard, scored a game-high 32 points and the Bobcats erased one ‘never-been-done-before’ task from the program’s ledger with a 76-68 win over Marshall in a first round WNIT game Thursday night inside the Convocation Center.

Ohio (25-6) picked up the first postseason win in program history with the victory. The Bobcats, making their debut in the WNIT, are 0-3 in a trio of NCAA Tournament appearances.
