The 2017 MAC tournament run ended for the Ohio Soccer Bobcats with both a positive note and a disappointment. The Bobcats held the number one seed Kent to a tie in regulation only to drop the match on penalty kicks. Though a disappointment, it demonstrated the ascendance of the Ohio program over the past few seasons, considering the goal scored was the first tally in the tournament in nearly ten years.
“Though it may have been a sour taste that we didn’t advance, we consider it a good step,” commented Aaron Rodgers, Ohio headman. “Our MAC point total was the most since 2009 and that was also a good step forward and we continue to build from that.
