Ohio rolls over hapless Hampton in season opener at Peden

The first game of the season can answer questions or raise them. Putting up 59 points and allowing none doesn’t raise a lot of questions about the winning team.

Ohio had a 7-0 lead at the end of the first quarter against Hampton in the Bobcats’ opener at Peden Stadium Saturday night, and it seemed as if the offense wasn’t fully ready to go. A change at quarterback, however, brought out Ohio’s rushing attack. Neither the intermittent rain nor Hampton’s defense would slow the Bobcats.

Quinton Maxwell started behind center for Ohio and was responsible for a 16-yard touchdown pass to Papi White in the first quarter.
