The Ohio men’s basketball team defeated the University of Rio Grande 87-56 at the Convo Saturday afternoon in an exhibition blowout. The Bobcats led for all 40 minutes.
This was Ohio’s tune-up game before the regular season starts next week. Yet the ’Cats offense looked out of sync in the first half against Rio Grande. The RedStorm belong to the River States Conference in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).
Ohio shot just 32.3 percent in the first half but forced Rio Grande to commit 11 turnovers and make just 25.9 percent of its shots. Ohio led 38-17 at halftime while reigning MAC Player of the Year Antonio Campbell paced all scorers with 14 points.
