With a losing streak longer than games remaining, the Ohio Bobcat men’s basketball team did not have much to look forward to or even celebrate entering Friday’s game.
By the time Friday night’s visit from Bowling Green ended, the Bobcats and head coach Saul Phillips were joyously jumping and celebrating on the floor of the Convocation Center. The losing streak, even the losing season didn’t matter, temporarily forgotten as the Bobcats and their fans celebrated a wild 92-87 overtime victory over the conference-elite Falcons (19-8, 11-3 Mid-American Conference).
Ohio (12-14, 4-10 MAC) hosted the then co-leaders of the MAC East Division just three days after losing by 47 points to the other division leader, Buffalo.
