For the first time all year, the Ohio Bobcats men’s basketball team is above .500 in conference play. And it’s mainly because they won a road game.
In beating the Ball State Cardinals 72-69 Tuesday evening in Muncie, Indiana, the Bobcats (15-8, 6-5 Mid-American Conference) picked up their second road win of the year, doubling their total from all of last year. The win also was Ohio’s fourth in five games and bucked a trend of Ohio struggling to put together complete performances on the road.
“The growth had been incremental and seen by me, and now I think the world is seeing it,” said head coach Saul Phillips after Tuesday’s win.
