Much was made of the Ohio Bobcats’ inexperience coming into Thursday night’s Mid-American Conference Tournament men’s quarterfinal game against the Northern Illinois Huskies. The Bobcats, of course, have just one senior on the roster and play several freshmen.
That didn’t seem to matter, as the No. 2 seed Bobcats throttled the Huskies 79-62 to advance to the semifinals on Friday.
“I thought the biggest takeaway for me is we came out and we looked poised, we looked poised on the tournament stage,” said head coach Saul Phillips after the game. “We talked about that a great deal but you can talk, talk, talk, talk.
