One of the longest reigning college football coordinator-head coach combos will be no more next season. After serving 14 years as defensive coordinator for the Ohio Bobcats, Jimmy Burrow announced Tuesday he is retiring from the team.
Ron Collins, who spent the last eight seasons serving as linebackers coach, will take over defensive duties.
“After much discussion with my family, I’ve decided to retire from coaching,” Burrow said in a statement released by Ohio Athletics. “It was a difficult decision, but it gives me the opportunity to spend more time with family. I’d like to thank Coach Solich for giving me the opportunity to coach here at Ohio University.
