The Bobcats didn’t end the Mid-American Conference championship drought that has over the program since 1968 this season.
But, ultimately, Ohio did accomplish something just as rare.
The Bobcats capped off a perfect home season with a 49-28 win over Akron on Friday afternoon inside Peden Stadium. Ohio (8-4, 6-2 MAC) ended the regular season with a 6-0 mark in home games this season; it’s a mark never before achieved in program history.
“I’m just really glad for the seniors that they were able to get this done and come up with a satisfying win,” Ohio head coach Frank Solich said.
