One of the staples of Saul Phillips’ tenure with the Bobcats has been the ability to generate open looks, at range.

In Phillips’ first four seasons with Ohio, the Bobcats never shot worse than 34.1 percent from 3-point range. Over the last three seasons, Ohio has posted 3-point percentages — 37.2, 38.6 and 38.2 — that all rank in the top four in program history since 2002.

But times have changed. Ohio (3-2) will host Iona (2-3) on Tuesday night in the Convocation Center with the dubious distinction as one of the worst 3-point shooting teams in the country.
