They might not bring March Madness excitement just yet, but the Ohio University men and women’s basketball seasons begin this weekend on their home court.
Both teams held scrimmages at the Convocation Center on Saturday. The men’s team defeated Capital 80-57 while the women’s squad, starting only freshmen players, fell to Walsh 82-66.
The women, under head coach Bob Bolden, started five freshmen in the scrimmage while juniors Olivia Bower and Kendall Jessing came off the bench.
Ohio’s Alexis Stover had a team-high 17 points while Gabby Burris followed with 15 points and Cierra Hooks added 12.
