The Ohio University men’s basketball team has granted junior center Wadly Mompremier a release from his scholarship.

Ohio announced the release on Tuesday in a statement. Mompremier, from Miami, Fla., will have two years to use one remaining season of Division I eligibility.

“Wadly has been granted his immediate release,” Ohio head coach Saul Phillips said in the statement. “We thank him for his efforts and support as he looks to get closer to home.”

Mompremier played in 64 games over three seasons with the Bobcats. A 6-foot-10 center with a long reach, Mompremier had issues with his health during much of his three-year run in Athens.
