Coach Bob Cooley said the first event of 2016 was going to be a guide for men's golf expectations moving forward.
On Monday, those expectations played out as anticipated.
Ohio lost to Miami 3-2 in the morning and tied Xavier 3-3 in the afternoon round of the first day of Mid-American Conference match play at the Lake Jovita Country Club in Dade City, Florida.
Match play is set up different than stroke play. There is no leaderboard. Instead, there is a bracket.
