Like the day before any opening night, there are bound to be some jitters and extra nervous energy bouncing through the Bobcats’ roster.
The 2016 Ohio University football team opens the season Saturday with a mid-afternoon start against Texas State inside Peden Stadium. For the first time in NCAA FBS history, two teams nicknamed the Bobcats’ will square off.
That quirk isn’t enough to get Ohio coach Frank Solich too excited. He’s been around so long and seen so much that he’s learned an even-keel approach is what suits him best.
“You just kind of flow with the punches on those kinds of things and understand that no matter what it is that’s new and different, you just have to be the same in your approach and not get too excited about anything,” Solich said.
