For 50 of the last 51 years — a half-century — Frank Solich has spent every August in a football training camp.

Ohio’s 14th-year head coach has every conceivable scenario play out during the course of a fall camp. For most in college football, August in the grind, the penance that must be paid to enjoy the spoils of game days in the fall.

“I think every camp is a new experience,” Solich said Friday at Peden Stadium, after the Bobcats wrapped up their final official practice of Fall Camp 2018.

“There’s some repetition about certain things, obviously, but you got a new team every camp,” he continued.
