The Bobcats are running out of time to start a stretch run.
Visiting Central Michigan scored in six straight innings, and held Ohio to one hit, as the Chippewas blistered the Bobcats 8-2 inside Bob Wren Stadium on Friday night.
The loss snapped Ohio’s three game winning streak and further jeopardized the Bobcats’ chances of qualifying for the MAC Tournament. Ohio (20-24, 5-11 Mid-American Conference) is now tied for 10th in the overall conference standings heading into Saturday; the top eight teams will play in the 2016 MAC Tournament.
With just eight MAC games left, the pressure to win — now — is rising.
