Ohio University announced just the third men’s golf coach in school history on Monday.
Ohio Director of Athletics Jim Schaus tabbed Carter Cheves as the new Bobcats’ coach in a release.
“He has outstanding credentials, quality recruiting successes and will be a great fit to lead our men’s golf program in the future,” Schaus said in the release.
Ohio Golf has had just two previous coaches. Cheves replaces Bob Cooley, who retired at the conclusion of the 2017-18 year after 30 seasons coaching at his alma mater. Kermit Blosser (1947-88) is the only other men’s golf coach in Ohio history.
