The Ohio Bobcats walked off their field at Peden Stadium on Friday afternoon, after walloping the Akron Zips 49-28. They marked the end of the 2018 regular season by hitting their stride and becoming Bowl eligible. Yet they also fell short of some important goals.
Ohio finished the year at 8-4 with a 6-2 record in Mid-American Conference play. This solid season continued the trend of consistently quality football by the Bobcats, but also kept alive a frustrating streak of failing to win the MAC Championship.
The devastating loss to underdog Miami on Nov. 7 put Ohio at long odds to clinch the MAC East Division and a spot in the conference Championship Game.
