’Cats face much tougher foe on Friday

It might be cliché, but the Ohio-Hampton football season opener Saturday night truly felt like watching a video game.

The Bobcats had “easy” mode turned on for the Pirates in the 59-0 beat-down at Peden Stadium. Ohio’s average starting field position was midfield; Hampton had four delay-of-game penalties, Bobcat backup quarterback Nathan Rourke juked out defenders while rushing for 50 yards and three touchdowns; and Hampton punter Adam Brown punted for 400 yards — just 20 yards fewer than Ohio’s entire offensive total of 420 yards on the night.

Hampton is an FCS team that probably will be the worst team the Bobcats will see this season.
