CLEVELAND — The Bobcats, ultimately, were trapped in a re-occurring, seemingly never-ending nightmare.
And with it, the dream of another NCAA Tournament bid might have disappeared.
Ohio, so dominant against the vast majority of the Mid-American Conference this season, fell for a third time against Buffalo, 72-60, in a 2016 MAC Tournament quarterfinal inside Quicken Loans Arena on Wednesday afternoon.
The Bobcats (24-6), the No. 1 seed in the tournament, were knocked out of the bracket in the first game in Cleveland.
“We just have to deal with it,” said Ohio junior guard Quiera Lampkins, who had a game-high 23 points, seven rebounds and five assists.
