TOLEDO — Entering play on Saturday, Ohio senior guard Kiyanna Black was leading the nation with 3.5 made 3-pointers per game.
She only certified her position thanks to a record-tying performance.
Black piled up 38 points — one off her career-high — to lead Ohio in a 77-57 win at Toledo inside Savage Arena.
Black was lethal, unconscious and uncanny from long range against the Rockets. Black buried 10 of 20 3-pointers on the day, and the 10 makes tied both the Ohio and Mid-American Conference single-game records.
Black’s 38 points were more than Toledo managed in quarters 1, 2 and 4 combined (38 to 37).
