Despite a lifetime in coaching, and all the public speaking that goes with that profession, Ohio University head football coach Frank Solich has a very small list of times that he’s regretted saying something.
Measured and calm, Solich isn’t one for grand statements, sweeping judgments, or off-the-cuff diatribes.
It was a surprise, then, that the Bobcats’ coach regretted offering up one statement during the team’s annual Media Day function inside Peden Stadium on Monday afternoon.
“Maybe we’ll go more on fourth-and-short if we have to. That’s not lacking confidence in our punters and our kickers because I think they’ll be good, but they will be inexperienced,” Solich said.
