The Bobcats know they’re facing the Bowling Green Falcons on Saturday. But how much the new edition of the Falcons resembles the old version remains to be seen.

Bowling Green announced the firing of third-year head coach Mike Jinks late in the day on Sunday. The Falcons (1-6, 0-3 Mid-American Conference) let go of the 43-year old Jinks in the middle of his third season. BG was 7-24 under his watch.

Carl Pelini, in his first season as the Falcons’ defensive coordinator, was announced as the interim head coach for the remainder of the season.
