The Ohio Bobcat defense has racked up 21 sacks through five games, which ties them with the AP No.-5 ranked Washington Huskies for the most sacks among all NCAA Division 1-A teams this season.
In their 17-7 win over the Miami RedHawks last week, the Bobcats’ defense tallied a season-high seven sacks.
Leading the nation in sacks is “a message to other schools,” junior defensive tackle Cleon Aloese said. “We didn’t come out here to just play tag.”
Aloese has 13 tackles and one sack so far this season while being used as a rotational player on Ohio’s defensive line.
