BOWLING GREEN, Ohio — The Bobcats wrapped up the regular season in style, and whipped the Falcons 9-3 at Meserve Field on Saturday afternoon.
The win was the fourth in a row for Ohio (33-21, 14-9 Mid-American Conference) and gave the Bobcats’ softball team a three-game sweep in the weekend series. Ohio’s 33 wins is the second-highest single-season total in program history.
Bowling Green (18-36, 6-17 MAC) lost for the eighth straight time. The Falcons will not qualify for the 2016 MAC Tournament.
Ohio has earned the No. 3 seed for the 2016 MAC Tournament, which begins on Wednesday at Firestone Stadium in Akron.
