Bobcats stun MAC-West power Toledo, move to first in MAC-East

For the first time in nearly 50 years, the Ohio Bobcats escaped the Glass Bowl with a victory, defeating the Toledo Rockets 31-26 Thursday night.

The Bobcats’ surprising win against the heavily favored Rockets combined with Akron’s loss to Buffalo on Thursday rewards Ohio with sole possession of first place in the MAC-East.

Ohio running back Dorian Brown had a tremendous game with a career high 212 rushing yards on 29 carries capped off by a 51-yard touchdown run to put the Bobcats (6-3, 4-1 MAC-East) up 31-20 with eight minutes left in the fourth quarter.

While Brown was bulldozing Toledo’s defenders on the ground, Ohio’s quarterback situation continued to define unpredictably.
