Bobcats seek rebound against WMU

Following Ohio’s loss on Saturday night, head coach Saul Phillips joked about finding more defense for the Bobcats.

“Who is my lock-down defender? I don’t have one yet and I have to get one,” Phillips said. “So if any young defensive stoppers are out there listening right now, there’s a ‘Help Wanted’ sign at Ohio University.”

The quip underscored the Bobcats’ current predicament. Ohio (10-6, 1-3 Mid-American Conference) is among the best teams in the conference offensively, but simply isn’t getting enough stops to win games.

Odds are Ohio’s defensive issues won’t be fixed entirely by Tuesday night when Western Michigan (7-10, 1-3 MAC) invades the Convo for a 7 p.
