Kent State kicker Shane Hynes booted a 33-yard field goal to give the Golden Flashes a 3-0 lead in the first quarter Saturday afternoon against Ohio at Peden Stadium. Kent didn’t score again.
At first, it seemed as if Ohio (6-2, 3-1 Mid-American Conference) would have another closer-than-necessary MAC meeting, but in a flash Ohio turned around and crushed Kent State 48-3.
Ohio running back A.J. Ouellette fumbled on the game’s opening drive and the Bobcats followed with two more punts before a Louie Zervos field goal tied the game at 3-3.
Bobcat quarterback Nathan Rourke was just 3 of 10 passing at halftime for 45 yards.
