DETROIT — A new team was picked to top the West Division, and a new face is leading the old favorite to win the East.
The Western Michigan Broncos and the Bowling Green Falcons, in the West and East respectively, were picked to win their divisions in the Mid-American Conference, according to the preseason poll released Thursday at MAC Football Media Day at Ford Field.
The poll, voted on by the conference’s media members, tabbed the Broncos as the clear favorite to win the overall MAC title. All told, 19 of the 26 voters picked WMU to win the MAC Championship game in early December.
