The transition from non-conference games to Mid-American Conference play did not go smoothly for the Ohio Bobcats Tuesday evening in Mount Pleasant, Michigan. Ohio fell 75-50 to the Chippewas, who have the best overall record in the MAC at 12-2.
After being down 37-31 after the first half, the Bobcats (6-6, 0-1 MAC) were done in by Central Michigan’s second-half run. The Chippewas (1-0 MAC) went on a 15-0 run to begin the second half to put Ohio down 52-31.
The Bobcats only scored 19 points in the second half. Had Central Michigan not scored again after the six-minute run, the Chippewas still would have prevailed.
