You don’t have to argue long and hard to make the point that Ohio junior center Antonio Campbell is one of the best players in the Mid-American Conference this season.
He’s dominated games. He’s come up in big spots in crunch time. And Campbell, a 6-10, 260-pound force, has terrific numbers.
In the last eight games of conference play, Campbell is averaging 19.4 points and 10.1 rebounds per game. The advanced basketball statistics site kenpom.com rates Campbell as the fifth-best offensive player in the MAC this season.
And imagine what it might be if Campbell didn’t have a dud of a league opener weighing down those numbers.
