On the one hand, Ohio senior Kiyanna Black came up short in her quest to tie or break the NCAA record for made 3-pointers in a single season.
On the other, Quiera Lampkins, Yamonie Jenkins and a tenacious Bobcat defense ensured Black would get another shot.
Lampkins sliced her way to the rim for a game-high 26 points, Jenkins kept Ohio settled down the stretch and the Bobcats bumped off Virginia Tech, 64-57, in a second round game of the 2016 WNIT inside Convocation Center on Sunday afternoon.
Ohio (26-6) advances to the third round (regional semifinals) of the WNIT with the win.
