MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. — The Bobcats stared the defending champions in the eye, on their home floor, and came out the other side with first place still under their collective thumb.
Ohio earned a huge win in its pursuit of the Mid-American Conference regular-season title with a 78-75 victory over Central Michigan on Saturday at McGuirk Arena. The Bobcats (20-2, 9-2 MAC) avenged an earlier home loss to the Chippewas (16-6, 7-3 MAC), and added a game to their lead over CMU in the conference standings.
More than 2,000 packed McGuirk for the showdown between conference heavyweights.
