Ohio football, meet the Big Ten. The Bobcats’ positive wave after crushing Hampton in week one crashed heavily Friday night after the ’Cats lost to Purdue 44-21 in West Lafayette, Indiana.
The Bobcats started Quinton Maxwell as quarterback, as announced, but gave Nathan Rourke snaps, too, as announced. What went against the game plan was Rourke entering and not coming out again.
Maxwell took the first two drives for Ohio and wrapped up his stint at 1-6 passing for 12 yards. Rourke entered with Purdue leading 10-0, and provided a bit of a spark but not nearly enough.
