Bobcats gave away opportunities against Appalachian State in bowl loss

Late in the fourth quarter of Saturday’s Camellia Bowl, Ohio running-back A.J Ouellette was stopped a yard short of a first down. Had Ouellette gotten a first down, the Bobcats would have had first-and-goal from the Appalachian State three-yard-line.

The Bobcats would have had a chance to score a touchdown and go up by at least four points, forcing the Mountaineers to have to score a touchdown to win.

Instead, the Bobcats opted to kick a field goal. Josiah Yazdani made his 21-yard attempt to put Ohio up 29-28 with 1:47 to play – and Appalachian State ultimately made a field goal of its own to beat Ohio by 31-29.
