Toledo’s Steve Taylor, Jr. bumped and bruised his way in the second half to hand the Ohio Bobcats a 79-76 defeat at home in the Convo Tuesday night. Jason Carter’s open top-of-the-key three-pointer bounced out at the end, ruining the Bobcats’ overtime bid.
Despite missing the final shot, Carter played terrific, scoring 20 points on eight of 16 shot attempts with seven rebounds. The freshman now has back-to-back double-doubles since entering the starting lineup for star player Antonio Campbell, who is out for the season with a broken foot.
“We need to be very careful with how reactionary we get after this game in the locker room,” Ohio coach Saul Phillips said after the game.
