Bobcats fall to Miami in MAC softball final

There were clutch home runs, standout pitching, and late-game rallies. There was determination and focus to earn a spot in the championship round despite slipping into the loser’s side of the bracket.

But for all that Ohio did during four days inside Firestone Stadium there was one thing that eluded its grasp. The Bobcats couldn’t score on Miami.

Miami won the fourth conference tournament championship in the program’s history late Saturday afternoon thanks to a 3-0 shutout over Ohio in the championship game. The RedHawks (34-21) were 4-0 in the tournament and rode the strong pitching efforts of tournament MVP Amber Logemann, who earned each of Miami’s wins in the tournament.
