File photoFrank Solich notched the 100th victory of his Ohio Bobcat career with the team’s 27-26 victory over Kent State last Saturday. The head coach since 2005, Solich has transformed the program from perennial mediocrity (or worse) to one of the most consistent teams in the nation. Still, the Mid-American Conference Championship remains elusive.
The next big step to breaking the 50-year drought of no MAC Championship wins will be on this Saturday. Ohio (3-2, 1-0 MAC) heads to Northern Illinois (3-3, 3-0 MAC) to try and make Coach Solich’s 101st win a reminder of who was the all-around favorite to win the conference.
