Bobcats clip RedHawks, earn No. 2 MAC seed

OXFORD, Ohio — Jaaron Simmons took the Bobcats home.

And now, Ohio is set for an express trip to Cleveland.

Simmons scored Ohio’s final five points, and added critical defensive plays inside the final minute, as the Bobcats tripped up Miami, 67-65, in the regular-season finale Friday night inside Millett Hall.

The win, plus a slew of losses inside the top half of the league standings, left Ohio (20-10, 11-7 Mid-American Conference) as the No. 2 seed for the 2016 MAC Tournament. The Bobcats begin their tourney run, at Quicken Loans Arena, Thursday at 6:30 p.
