Bobcats blow out IPFW in home opener

Kiyanna Black scrunched her face and furrowed her brow as if an unpleasant stench had suddenly entered the room.

But it wasn’t an odor. It was an unsightly bit of statistical news.

“29 turnovers?” Black asked, incredulously. “I know it was ugly, but…”

Such is the state of the Ohio University women’s basketball team that such an unseemly number had little effect on the overall contest at hand. The Bobcats (4-2) may have been sloppy, but they were also dominant in dispatching visiting IPFW 79-52 inside the Convocation Center on Thursday afternoon.

Ohio never trailed and, buoyed by a sensationally efficient game from Black, was never in danger of coming out on the wrong side of the score in its home opener.
